(Oslo, 8 February 2012) The City of Oslo has chosen EDB ErgoGroup as a supplier of operating services for its main IT platform, shared applications and the equipment it uses for its activities. The agreement runs for three years, with options to extend for a further three years. The agreement represents total contract value of NOK 287 million.
EDB ErgoGroup will take over responsibility for the City of Oslo's core IT operations, which include operating services for PCs, printers, equipment such as smart telephones and IP telephony. The agreement includes operating services for core software, operation of the main applications and servers, security solutions and access control, as well as integration solutions for IT operations.
Choice of supplier decided by several criteria
"EDB ErgoGroup's proposal offered competitive prices for operating services, hourly rates and consulting services, and its terms for the set-up project were more reasonable than the other bids", comments Gerd Robsahm Kjørven, Head of the Agency for Improvement and Development at the City of Oslo.
In considering the proposals received, the City of Oslo has placed great emphasis on quality as well as price. In order to ensure successful implementation and stable operations, the Agency for Improvement and Development has evaluated the planning, implementing, monitoring and reporting arrangements for the proposed solutions. In addition, the solutions and methodology to be used for setup, advice, development and operations played a crucial role in the decision to choose EDB ErgoGroup.
The City of Oslo carried out its purchasing procedures through competitive bidding and negotiation in accordance with the Norwegian legislation and regulations on public sector procurement, and the deadline for objections to its decision expires on 13 February 2012.
EDB ErgoGroup takes over complete responsibility
The new agreement will reduce the number of operating services providers used by the City of Oslo from eight to just one. This will ensure more unified and cost efficient operations.
"This agreement will strengthen and develop further the solutions EDB ErgoGroup provides for the public sector. The solutions we will deliver for the City of Oslo will ensure updated platforms for users combined with secure and reliable IT solutions. EDB ErgoGroup is delighted by the confidence shown by the City of Oslo, and we will make full use of our entire delivery apparatus to ensure the quality of our deliveries", comments Terje Mjøs, CEO of EDB ErgoGroup.
