Ordina successfully finalises integration of financial administrations for the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation




Systems from the former Ministries of Economic Affairs and Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality successfully linked in Oracle E-Business Suite

Ordina has successfully finalised the implementation of an integrated financial administration for the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation. This implementation entailed linking two separate financial systems from the former Ministries of Economic Affairs and Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. The result is an integrated financial system for the new Ministry, based on the Oracle E-Business Suite. The duration of the project was under 6 months thanks to the close cooperation between The Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation, its National Service for the Implementation of Regulations and ICT Implementation, Oracle and Ordina. Ordina is preferred supplier for implementation and management activities regarding Oracle E-Business Suite to the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation was formed by consolidating the former Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. The financial administration of both ministries had to be integrated as result of the ministries' amalgamation. With the introduction of the Oracle E-Business Suite, 1,200 employees from the newly formed Ministry will be using the integrated system for all financial administration and procurement. Oracle E-Business Suite offers many efficiency advantages: many processes are automated, this means that orders, procurement orders and invoices can be linked to each other automatically and processed very fast, without requiring human intervention. This ensures that fewer mistakes are made in the order and payment process and it saves employees time.

Besides the new system that needed to be implemented, the work processes within the Ministry needed to be adjusted. With our client, we first mapped what the ideal process would be and which implications this held for the system. Once this was done, we implemented the system with Oracle and with Sogeti as responsible party for the testing. In such a large-scale project, collaboration is crucial to ensure a successful implementation. An implementation that all parties can be proud of."
