Firefighters are tackling a blaze on a Russian cargoship stuck in ice off Ukraine.
The crew of 14 has abandoned the 5,900-dwt Captain Ivan Vikulov (built 1992) after the fire broke out in the Sea of Azov on Sunday morning.
Ten seafarers, including a female cook, had left on a Russian icebreaker, while the captain, first mate, chief engineer and bosun stayed on board. But they too were forced to evacuate later on Sunday.
Water cannons are being used to douse the flames, but ice in the area is making the attempt very difficult.
Shipowner V Holding of Moscow wants to tow the vessel into the nearest port of Mariupol.
The blaze started in a cabin, according to the crew.
